Today we’d like to introduce you to Frederick Bisaillon.
Frederick, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My Partner Denise and I started B-ACK Yard BBQ in Nantucket in June of 2014 in Downtown Nantucket. The response was so great, we thought to bring the great BBQ to the mainland, and found the perfect spot During the winter of 2015.
We found Surfside Smokehouse which is located in Brewers Marina on the waterfront in Plymouth, and fell in love.
In the past 3 years, we have served our amazing BBQ and Seafood to well over 200,000 customers from the Boston and South Shore area, Cape Cod and around the world.
We have been featured on Phantom Gourmet, Wicked Bites, South Shore Living, and the Boston Globe.
We care about our products, and only serve the best cuts of meat, fresh local fish, and responsibly sourced produce.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was a bit tough at first to figure out who the clientele is. We have since changed some of our menu to reflect more approachable items as well as just giving more options. In a place like the waterfront in Plymouth, you have to have plenty of options, while still keeping your identity.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Surfside Smokehouse – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Attitude, Service, and Teamwork. We have a culture within our 3 restaurants that is all about working as a team and creating a great customer experience with. Without good attitudes among our staff, service within our operation wouldn’t be great, and we wouldn’t be anything special.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We just opened up our 3rd place this year. It’s called “The Charlie Noble” and it’s located on Nantucket Island, just down the street from B-ACK Yard BBQ. It is a traditional Seafood Joint with some progressive dishes added to the mix.
We aren’t sure if we will expand, but you never know. If a great opportunity arises, we will go for it.
