Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has certainly not been a smooth road. Out of struggle, we learn to adapt, change and grow. I founded Khuri Design after working as a Senior Designer at a prestigious design firm in the South End of Boston. It had taken me 10 years to rise from a junior designer with a 3-month contract to a Senior Designer managing and designing brand identities for my own clients. When I started at SBA, I was the youngest and the only woman designer. I was also under qualified as my school degree was for advertising, not graphic design. But I had a good visual sense, a portfolio and an amazing mentor named Will Cook who believed in me. The early days there were difficult. I had to learn the design craft by fire. But somehow, I learned to abandon my ego and work through the harsh criticism and long hours. Ultimately, I was fortunate to gain true knowledge of the art and business of branding.

Khuri Design – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Khuri Design specializes in creating strong brand identities through strategic thinking, logo design, typography, palettes, method and materials, imagery and language which when combined, speak in one voice to communicate your best, visualized. ®

Every company begins with a dream. It is Khuri Design’s job to turn their goals and aspirations into a visual language; to show the world the best and most sincere expression of values and hopes.

What makes my company different than other firms is the holistic approach I take to understanding each and every client. Khuri Design dives deeper, understanding not only the client’s offerings and services but the true essence and aspirations of the company. And when visually realized, the new brand identity is unique, strong and effective.

As President, I only work with clients who I believe in their contribution / service offering / company. Also, once engaged with a client, I will work to ensure complete satisfaction and joy with the finished product.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally, I feel that I have already achieved true success. I absolutely love what I do and maintain ongoing strong relationships with clients whom I have had for over 20 years. My goal to represent the best in each of my clients can be seen and appreciated all over Boston and beyond. I am grateful for the years of challenges, struggles and hard work that have given me the gift of success both personally and professionally.
