Meet Colleen Sullivan of Colleen and Leah’s Massage Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colleen Sullivan.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I worked for an ambulance company as an EMT for about 20 years and as the company started to pull out of the north east area so I decided to look into another career, I knew I wanted to still help people but in more of a holistic way, so I studied Reiki and became a Reiki master teacher and within that same time period I went to school for massage and am know licensed through the state of Massachusetts. I wanted to learn more about the business so I started working for a large massage company and met a lot of nice people who taught me how to treat different injuries and from there I educated myself in a wide range of injuries and how to treat them. I also met my business partner Leah Knowles there and we decided to look for a small space where we could help more people, know we share a small office space within the Michelangelo Building in Braintree.

Has it been a smooth road?
With starting anything new you learn as you go, we made decisions to use local organic products to where everything would go to provide a welcoming atmosphere, then it was how to bring the clientele, and we decided to try groupon which did bring us a lot of real nice people from the area.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Colleen and Leah’s Massage Therapy story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in a wide range from Relaxation to rid the mind and body of daily stress to sport injuries, motor vehicle injuries any type of muscular pain, if we don’t know we will educate ourselves to order help the client, We also make sure there is time before and after massage to answer any questions the client has.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
