Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Pierce.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sharon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I opened the art spot with the vision it would grow into a community art studio. I have been an artist and teacher for a long time and felt like the combination of the two could provide a place for people to relax, learn and create. There is nothing better than the energy of people creating.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth is relative. Being an artist does not make it easy to be a business person. However, the people I have found have been supportive and willing to share their thoughts and experience. There is a definitely a learning curve. When the studio is in use it makes it all worthwhile.
Please tell us about the art spot.
The art spot is a processed based guided studio where a person can learn and experiment in a non-judgmental space. In addition, the studio is open for birthday parties and, paint night style parties tailored to your wants for all ages. The fun thing about the art spot is that it is personal and you can make it your own. There is a clay studio and room for just about any medium you can come up with waiting to be used.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Spending my summers in a pool!
