Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Douglas.
Mary, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am one of three founding partners of Corinthian Events, started over 16 years ago today. Previously working in first the sailing industry and then the event décor field, create the perfect background of those who like to party with solid design and logistics experience to help launch Corinthian Events.
As Creative Director, I bring experience in creative event design, event planning and event production to the team. I try to take a creative approach to each job and bring a vision with fresh ideas to each client while also making sure the ideas are logistically viable to produce. A Master’s degree in advertising and marketing helps me to incorporate a client’s marketing and sales goals into a program keeping the goal of the event at the forefront.
Almost 17 years later, I still love what I do every day.
Has it been a smooth road?
There are always struggles in a small business, but having three business partners has made them easy to overcome. Starting with only 3 of us and now being 21 full time employees involves work to grow the company and the systems of the company to work like a well-oiled machine. Our team is really one big happy family. You have to be to get through some of the crazy things we do!

Since 2000 we’ve been planning memorable events and winning clients over through our detailed, service-oriented approach coupled with an honest, trustworthy and approachable demeanor. Full-service means just that: transportation, food & beverage, entertainment, audio/visual, specialty lighting design, decor, production, registration, on-site staff. Call us perfectionists but because we do everything, we know everything will be done right.
Personalized service is our specialty. Our office is not divided into sales and operations, meaning clients will work with one primary contact from the inception of a program through the wrap-up ensuring the mastery of even the smallest detail. Internally, we work as a team developing the best creative concepts to bring your vision to life. The more brains the more powerful the ideas. With one primary contact and the creative vision and logistical expertise of a full office, you receive personalized service backed by solid teamwork.
At Corinthian Events we don’t meet goals, we blow them out of the water. Our goal is to become an integral part of your team, navigate and drive the process for you, working together to achieve the end goal. We do this, and continually do it well, so that together we are successful.
We’re in it for the long term, not just one night. Sure, we like to party. It’s what we do best. But when the party’s over you should be looking forward to the next success with Corinthian Events.
