Meet Ivor Edmonds of Taireiki Yoga and Wellness Center in Brighton Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivor Edmonds.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ivor. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Reiki I in 1999 to learn to heal myself. I completed Reiki Master training in 2001. After spending sometime at the Merrick School of Business I continued practicing Reiki part-time through my career in social services helping gangs, victims of violent crimes and the homeless in Greater Boston. I took time to learn to balance my passion with my career. In that time I constantly attend training and classes to develop my skills. I finished my Master’s Degree in Applied Healing Arts at the Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2010 and developed a healing curriculum appropriate for social service agencies. In 2014 I took an opportunity as the co-owner of a local yoga studio. With the success and lessons I gained from that experience, I opened Taireiki Wellness Center in Brighton Center to give the community as much access to afford authentic wellness services possible. I’m now in a position where I can direct and deliver wellness services in any setting I chose.

Tai – Ultimate
Rei – Universal
Ki – Life-force Energy (Unified Field)
Yoga – Union

Taireiki Yoga means Union with Ultimate Universal Life-force. It also means beyond Reiki.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a visionary, it took time to learn to harmonize the requirements of my practice with work and family life. It also taken years to develop the language used to describe healing arts to the general public in a meaningful way. Exhaustion and self-doubt we’re of course constant obstacles. Thankfully I’m in a relationship now where I’m completely understood and my aspirations are supported.
