Meet Gil Duzanski of WDB Agency in Watertown Square

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gil Duzanski.

Gil, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2009 my wife and I learned that our daughter had a speech delay disability. At that time I was a lead developer at one of the largest agencies in Boston. Working remotely few days a week was not an option for me and I made a choice to quit my job, take care of my child and start freelancing. This led me to hire more people and grow the agency.

Has it been a smooth road?
It is newer a smooth road. Challenges are part of a startup life. Web and design agencies usually don’t have product that they can get funding for from investors. This means that money is a first problem that most design firms face. We weren’t different in that respect. Next big challenge was name recognition and building relationship s and partnerships with companies that provide related services.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Elon Mask once said that Tesla is Technology Company first and it is circumstantial that technology they developed was applied to cars. WDB is a people company first and design and marketing agency second. You can’t be a designer or marketer without understanding people. I am an introvert and for me it was of the biggest challenges to overcome. We apply our design, technology and marketing skills to build bridges and long lasting relationships between businesses and their customers. I am very proud of our team and all the accomplishments we achieved together to deliver extraordinary results to our clients.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Boston tech scene now has an amazing stretch of both Boston & Cambridge. According to a report by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation that was published last year Boston was No. 1 spot for its readiness to foster entrepreneurial growth and innovation in the next wave of the digital economy. I would definitely recommend Boston to any interpreter looking for the startup atmosphere, highly skilled people and investment opportunities.
