Meet Stephanie Kula, Licensed Acupuncturist of North Shore Community Acupuncture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Kula, Licensed Acupuncturist.

Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My passion for health and wellness started in 1999 when I started working at a holistic medical practice based in Arlington, MA. As time went on I moved into a variety of roles in the practice both administratively and clinically. The doctor that I worked for was also an acupuncturist. I felt like a sponge, I just wanted to learn more!

It became obvious that I wanted to grow more into a practitioner role so I decided to go to acupuncture school. This was one of the best decisions I made. After graduation I decided to take a leap of faith and open a small community clinic and offer affordable acupuncture in Salem, MA.

On opening day I had 8 patients scheduled. Fast forward 6 years later and the clinic is now open 7-days per week and we treat approximately 160 per week. It has been rewarding and exciting to offer affordable health care options to our community. I look forward to expanding more and reaching as many people as possible.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being a business owner brings a lot of rewards and the occasional challenge. Learning to balance work, life, self-care and time management have been the biggest lessons I have learned along the way.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
