Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Onishi.
When Onishi took the reigns as Peace Dining Corporation’s president, he came to the role with over a decade of experience in building companies’ profitabilities, international strategies and efficiency in the food industry. Josh has been instrumental in raising the awareness and acceptance of sushi and Japanese cuisine in North America using inventive merchandising, menu and marketing concepts. Of particular note, is his commitment to global sustainability and responsible fishing practices, which are a core principle of his company and products. He received his MBA at Columbia University and undergraduate degree from Osaka University.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has been adventurous! What started in 1997 in Philadelphia as a single sushi restaurant, Genji, has transformed into one of Whole Foods Market’s largest sushi providers, allowing Peace Dining Corporation (PDC) to serve both the United States and the United Kingdom with almost 250 in-store sushi bars. Since 1997, PDC has practiced an honest & transparent culture when it comes to our food. We’ve always followed strict standards for sustainability and only work with the most-respected suppliers who are able to meet rigorous requirements, including certifying the quality of our products. We’re continually evolving our business to reach out of sushi into other pan-Asian food genres to create unique and exciting shop-in-shop destination for our clients.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
