Setareh, Mohsen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We’ll start with our name which tells half of the story. The name O’Trafford is a derivative of the name “Old Trafford”, the soccer stadium and home of Manchester United in England. You may wonder why soccer for a specialty dental office. Well my husband Mohsen, Dr. Mahoozi, is an avid soccer enthusiast. He has been a loyal fan of Manchester United (ManU) since 1978. His passion for ManU brightened up his youth growing up in the gloomy weather of Leeds, England. Thus it was only fitting for the name to honor ManU, on February 27, 2016 O’Trafford Dental Specialists saw its first patient.
It was two years of relentless searching for our perfect space to relocate the existing dental office from Newton, Newton Periodontics was called then, where it was a shared and rent space, but finally we found our perfect space closer to our home to invest and grow.
O’Trafford Dental Specialists is dedicated to Periodontal Care and Dental Implants with Dr. Mahoozi. We have an unbelievably caring, devoted and professional team that came with us from Newton. We are truly lucky as our team makes our practice a very enjoyable work environment and I know our patients value and see this positive dynamic. As of August 2017 we are expanding to add Endodontic Care with Dr. Mona Haghani. We look forward to growing our O’Trafford family.
Has it been a smooth road?
Any business owner knows struggles are necessary, no pain no gain. We are continuously learning and improving, small struggles on a daily basis. However our major challenge was finding our space. Despite the strong recommendation from our accountant to look for a space outside the city, to purchase an existing practice and slowly transition, we were determined to stay in the city, where we feel at home. We wanted to do it our way and start from scratch. Many hours of searching, extra energy and expense for misleads and mismatched realtor agents. Dealing with the bank and the dental contractors required persistence, organization and good negotiation skills. Luckily my background and education in business came handy.
Two key factors that saved us:
1) Our experienced no BS attorney, he was definitely worth every penny.
2) Our wiser and older family members gave us good guidance and moral support.
Through this challenge, Mohsen and I learned to work very well together and got to be a lot closer as a couple. Now we have our perfect location and set it up exactly the way we want, a place we truly feel at home.

We love Boston for its diversity in people, culture and food. It is the Athens of America! Boston believes in the enlightenment through knowledge. We love the Charles River and its magnificence, the twists and turns as it separates and unites Cambridge where we reside and Boston our working home.
We have the four seasons to enjoy, from the red and gold tapestry of the autumnal leaves, to the blizzards and chilling gusts of winter, the Rain and flowers of spring to the hot beaches and sun of the summer. We enjoy every second, perhaps wishing for more sun would be our only complaint.
