Meet Brianna Cincotta, Heather Normandie, and Andrea McCue of Hair Society Salon in Stoneham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Cincotta, Heather Normandie, and Andrea McCue.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brianna, Heather, and Andrea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started with Heather approaching Andrea and telling her that we wanted to discuss the possibility of the three of us going out on our own. We actually went out to dinner at Tulip, which is right next door to our salon now! We didn’t even know that Salons by JC was here at the time. We wanted to discuss the process of opening a salon and Andrea has had more experience working at different locations. We knew that we wanted to keep the salon vibe, but be out on our own and treat it as three separate business owners. This was the best option for that.

It’s been a lifelong dream: to branch out on our own and open our own business. Heather and I had spoken about doing this for a while. When we met Andrea, we felt like it might be time to fulfill that dream. She was the final piece of our puzzle.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think that the biggest challenge was leaving a salon and branching off on our own. New beginnings are always scary, but it”s worth the risk. Having to do everything on our own has also been a challenge because you’re now taking on all the different roles at the salon. Not having a receptionist anymore means we’re doing all of the bookings. It’s all little things that add up.

The main perk is working for yourself, and that pays off for all the things that we don’t have anymore. Knowing that at the end of the day, we have something that is our own makes all that extra work worth it. Also, being able to make our own schedule is a plus. All the hard work that you put into it makes you happier in the end. It feels like more of an accomplishment and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
We specialize in coloring, gray coverage, and blondes. We all do a lot of blondes and balayage! We also are known for our talents with fantasy colors and precision cutting. And weddings! Weddings are a big part of our business. Nothing is better than being apart of your clients big day! Andrea is a certified WELLA colorist and Heather also specializes in extensions.

What sets us apart is a comfortable environment and the fabulous clients that keep us going. Everyone is family here. And we have a wide range of clientele. A lot of people like the suite atmosphere of Salons by JC. It’s very collaborative. Between the three of us, we have a lot of education and we’re open to asking each other questions and bouncing ideas off of each other. All of the education we have is something to brag about. And we still go to classes to continue learning new tricks, trends, and skills.

We waited until we had been here for six months before we held our Grand Opening party in November 2017. I think we can all agree that was our proudest moment as a salon. Seeing how many people came to support us was just everything. Just seeing all of our friends, family, and clients who came out to celebrate us were so exciting!

What were you like growing up?
All of us have such different personalities and upbringings. We all grew up in different towns and cities, but all of our differences are what makes us the salon we are today.
