Today we’d like to introduce you to Trend Stream Entertainment.
Thanks for sharing the Trend Stream story with us Oliver Burns. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2009, seven individuals started Trend Stream in a small Regis College Dorm room in Weston, MA. Our goal at the time was simple. We attended a few bad college events and wanted to change the face of college parties in the greater Boston area. The partnerships we made with many students organizations allowed us to leverage our following to the point where we started hosting & curating our own events at different venues across New England.
In 2012, we became incorporated under Massachusetts State Law as an Event & Media Production Company providing media, sound reinforcement, and live performances for a diverse range of events; Weddings, Awareness Benefits, Corporate Functions, Educational Institutes, etc.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been easy at all. A lot of our resources were built through barter partnership agreements. Which brought about more uncompensated work than anything but positioned us to leverage certain opportunities.
On top of that, we have broken, lost and poured thousands of dollars into equipment. From the sound system for Trend Stream Sound to the cameras and film production equipment for Trend Stream Media.
On March 31st, 2017 Trend Stream Entertainment moved our headquarters into an art studio with partnering company The Denim Nation of America. April 1st, 2017 (literally the next day) the studio is broken into and $10,000 worth of equipment was stolen.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Trend Stream Entertainment story. Tell us more about it.
Joining together with DJs, Event Planners, Photographers, Videographers, Models, Dancers, Artists, Sound Engineers, and Non-Profit Organizations, Trend Stream acts as both a platform to help artists succeed and as an Event & Media services company providing all the necessary tools to make any event successful, entertaining, and memorable.
In terms of Film:
We shot a commercial for Herb Chambers on Commonwealth Ave, Campaign videos for local business and non-profits such as Fit Church Fit Community, Inner City Sanctuary for the Arts, MADE Organics, and more. As well as assisted with an Award winning Documentary with BeHeard.World, a brand that mixes the arts with social justice work.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say the Law of Attraction is a better term to use rather than luck. A lot of work has been put in to get this far and keep the brand afloat. From networking to underselling ourselves in one opportunity in order to set up better opportunities. Also, joining the local business development programs for small businesses and startups. Every opportunity is a set up for the next gig.
