Today we’d like to introduce you to K.C. Howard.
K.C., can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been passionate about photography. I have worked to advance my craft since high school. For me there are never a good time to start my own company I kept putting it off year after year. Finally after the birth of my first child I decided it was time to go for it, no more excuses. Purple Opal Photography was founded. The name was chosen in honor of my daughter, Kaiya, who are born premature. Purple is the premature birth awareness color and Opal is my daughter’s birthstone. She gave me the strength and courage to jump in and take the risk. Purple Opal Photography continues to grow and flourish along with my family. I strive to give my client the personalized attention they deserve and provided them with beautiful images capturing the love and emotion in every moment.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a women, wife, mother, and business owner life balance is a daily struggle. I am not sure if I can say that will ever change as life continuously evolves requiring constant readjustment. I tend to thrive well in a busy and stimulating environment. So my crazy life lends itself well to my creativity.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Purple Opal Photography – what should we know?
I am my proud that Purple Opal Photography can cover all the needs on my clients throughout the spectrum of life. The Visible Love Project is a side project of Purple Opal Photography that focused on LOVE. Free sessions are given to families, couples, children who demonstrate the diversity, understanding, and respect that all humans deserve regardless of appearances. The goals is to create a body of work evoking love and dignity.
We all know the saying LOVE is blind.
So why do we judge LOVE with our sight? The truth is that LOVE is intangible.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
