Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Lee Medeiros.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started Smart Body in 2016. I got my massage license in 2014. I had previously gone to school for Medical Assisting and phlebotomy. I also have a certification as a chiropractic assistant.
I enjoyed helping people feel at their optimal level that I decided to go back to school for massage so I could enhance my abilities and give myself more access to helping people feel their best. I am a single Mother of 2 and run my business. I share the office with an acupuncturist.
During this healing journey, I also received my Reiki certificates for Reiki 1 and 2. As well as six additional certifications in Myofascial Release. Healing the body as a whole from keeping your vessel clean, flexible, cared for and your energy balanced is what my passion truly is.
Continuing to educate myself through this journey as a human being here with a passion for the healing arts is also in my top priorities.
We’re sure you’ve faced many challenges along the way, any in particular you can share more about?
Yes, as a single parent running my own business I come across many obstacles. Running my business while pregnant and taking care of a 5-year-old daughter has had its challenges.
However, I believe that staying truly authentic to myself, my passions for this work and my faith and beliefs are what have helped create opportunities for what was needed to keep moving forward.

I love deep tissue work, sports rehabilitation work. I have six certifications in Myofascial Release. As well as my Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 certification.
Smart Body is being sure that the massage therapy sessions are individualized to each client and what their individuals’ needs are while staying open to flow and change as we all shift and change in life.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up as a child I had a deepened interest and curiosity in “Energy” and the meaning of life and what we are here for. What is our purpose? Coming to the realizations that service to others is absolutely what I wanted to do while I am here.
