Meet Michael Razzano and Dawn Brown of Franklin Glass Company in Franklin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Razzano and Dawn Brown.

Michael, Dawn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our company originally opened on Union Street by Mr. Morrisey. He was not tending to his business properly and unable to pay, the Vendetti’s that owned the building, rent. So the Vendetti’s asked their good friends Jack & Mary Nasuti (who had 3 sons) if any of the boys would be willing to take over the Franklin Glass Co. Dave the middle son stepped forward and said he would give it a try. The rest is history!! Franklin Glass Company is now in its 54 year of operation.

We now have 15 employees, have the best showroom of any glass company in the area. We service residences, businesses, schools, and churches throughout a large area of southwest Massachusetts.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a pretty smooth road. The economic crash in 2008 as did a change in management hurt our business, however we did our best to reinvent and revitalize our business, and to our success it worked! We have been in many local Trade shows and give back to our community with donations to many school and sporting fundraisers. We prefer to donate to organizations that work with children and animals, such as Forever Home Rescue of New England is one of our favorites. We continue to thrive in the community.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Franklin Glass Company, Inc. story. Tell us more about the business.
Franklin Glass has a newly renovated showroom. We have full size shower doors on display as well as a large selection of beveled and framed mirrors. We can custom build any type of shower door. Our business also does commercial entrances and windows. We are able to build and fix screens. We also have started to produce our own insulated units. This is added bonus because what used to take two weeks now we are able to turn around in one day! We also cut all types of glass for window and door repairs as well as tabletops.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We try our best to stay on top of the current design trends. We hope to be around for another 50 years!!
