Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Richardson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Pamela. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Money had always been a great mystery to me. My father would say I thought it grew on trees and on some level he was correct. I have an incredible ability to attract money through employment and inheritances but until very recently I could hold on to none of it. Faced with incredible debt and the knowledge of another inheritance I knew I was in trouble and that my relationship with money was not normal. I knew I needed help.
Turning to my good friend Google I searched for money coaches. There were zero in New England so I had to hire ones from the West coast. That was 5 years ago. I have been coached and mentored by Karen McCall, the founder of the financial recovery movement and by Barbara Huson, the leading authority on Women, Wealth & Power. The methods and strategies they use to help people with money issues are incredibly powerful and I knew if I could get a grip on my own money issues that I could help people just like me.
My financial recovery began 5 years ago August 22, 2013. In October of 2015, I began my money coaching practice. Today I help individuals and couples create better relationships with their money and I specialize in recipients of “sudden money.” Sudden money might be an inheritance, a lottery win, sale of a business, a lawsuit, money resulting from a divorce or death of a spouse and most recently – a startup business that is highly successful and cash flow rich.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wish I could say it has been an easy road but it hasn’t. I started my business with a therapeutic model meaning I met people individually in person and early on I would work with anyone with money problems. My desire to help them was more important than my getting paid.
Often times people with financial issues cannot afford to pay you. While I know from personal experience that payment for money coaching is the best money you can spend because it can change your life if you are willing, it is expensive. While it is SO worth the investment, conveying that message to others has been a challenge.
Because I am shifting from an in-person model to an online business model I have been faced with many more obstacles that could potentially be totally overwhelming.
Technology, terminology and age (I’m a digital immigrant, not a native) are challenges. Left to my own devices the business would slowly come to a close but because I have assembled an amazing team of people to do what needs to be done we are on a roll.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Money Mastery with Pam story. Tell us more about the business.
Money Mastery with Pam works with people who attract/earn large sums of money yet have an inability to hold onto it. Many Americans don’t spend time thinking about their relationship with money, they mindlessly make it and spend it.
When you work with Money Mastery with Pam you spend a great deal of time looking at your current money story, the money messages you received, your thoughts, beliefs and actions as they pertain to money. There is also a great deal of education that occurs as our schools and families often neglect to teach financial education.
The bulk of our business comes from small business owners and the medical profession. Two industries with great earning potential and opportunity for financial misuse if not knowledgeable about financial matters. We specialize in working with “Sudden Money” recipients such as inheritors, business windfalls and money resulting from lawsuits.
A category of sudden money that we have an interest in but as yet have had no clients is lottery winners. Research shows that for the majority of lottery winners the money is gone within 3-5 years. With the proper financial team in place, those stats could be very different.
What sets me apart from others in my industry is my personal knowledge of the shame and embarrassment that money issues create and my ability to guide individuals through the really difficult emotions that arise in this work. I am a lifelong learner, take great pride in helping others and believe in continual personal development so that I bring the only the best to my clients.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Interesting question! I tend to subscribe to the quote from Oprah – “I believe luck is preparation meeting opportunity. If you hadn’t been prepared when the opportunity came along, you wouldn’t have been lucky.”
Luck is similar to affirmations. It doesn’t work very well all by itself but once you put some action into it amazing things result!
