Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Mcguill.
Kelly, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always believed that many experiences in your life lead you to a work experience that you love or are meant for, After college, I worked for ten years as a sales rep for a Brick distributor. I called on Architects and contractors and worked on commercial projects. I learned so much about listening to your clients, building great relationships with everyone involved and so much more.
I was able to take several courses in Architecture while working for this company which really ignited my love of interiors and design. After my two sons were born, I was asked by family and friends to help them with their homes, I had one of the projects professionally photographer, soon after it was picked up by a magazine and my phone started ringing, thus became the start of Kelly McGuill Home…
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think with any business there are struggles. I have learned and grown from all of it; good and bad. It has not always been smooth but certainly interesting. I’ve come to realize that there will always be problems and issues and it’s not what they are but how you handle them that counts.
Please tell us about Kelly McGuill Home.
Kelly McGuill Home has been in business since 1998. We are an Interior Design and Design-build firm working on residential and commercial work. We are known for our classic, timeless, spaces. We love working with architects and contractors alongside our clients. We are known for making spaces come to life. We have built relationships over the years with the most incredible tradespeople…. painters, electricians, carpenters, contractors, window treatment people…
Our communication between our clients is tantamount to our companies success. We are a down to earth firm and great listeners. When our project is complete, we want our clients to be thrilled with the end results….. that makes us happy.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’ve been so blessed to have the most amazing people working for me. Gabrielle Lazaros has been with me for over six years, I credit so much of my success to her support. Rhea Urbaniak has been with me for a year and I can’t image my company without her. I’d hire the same people and trust myself. I would only let myself believe (for the most part) that this could work, that I’d be successful.
