Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith McCarthy.
Meredith, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After earning two degrees in environmental planning and geography, I decided I had to live my dream of becoming a floral designer. I graduated from Rittners School of Floral Design in 2006 located in Boston, Massachusetts, and here I am today doing what I love—floral design and event styling for weddings and events.
Throughout my life, I’ve been a creative person and have enjoyed the beauty that flowers brought to my life. At a young age, I knew I wanted to be a floral designer. Flowers move me and intrigue me. Through flowers, I work to express the personalities and sensibilities of my clients and create the true essence of their wedding day. I seek out unique materials, research farms and various blooms tirelessly, to bring only the most exceptional blossoms and most unique vision to the table.
I love the ocean, nature, my family and that is what inspires my designs each and every day!
Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a smooth road so far! I have lots of great clients and venues that love my work and continue to tell their friends and clientele. I love what I do and love all of the new ideas and vision that each client brings to me.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Meredith McCarthy Floral Design & Event Styling story. Tell us more about the business.
Meredith McCarthy Floral Design is a floral design business that focuses on Weddings and Events. We specialize in making your wedding day special and unique with lots of personal touches. We are known for full, lush and textured arrangements. We love filling a vase with so many blooms to create lots of texture.
We are also known for amazing ceremony arches with overflowing greenery and blooms. Two things sets us apart from other florists, 1) we only take one wedding per day so we can focus 100% on our clients 2) We hand select all of our blooms and only pick the highest quality flowers in the market.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The floral tends that I see for the next few years are white blooms with lots of darkly textured greenery. I see more and more brides wanting floral tablescapes rather than just one arrangement on the table. Brides are wanted lots of personal touches throughout their wedding as well
