Today we’d like to introduce you to Girelie Pagan.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Makeup has always been my passion. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always experimented & played with makeup. I use to always go to school some some sort of eyeshadow, blush & gloss. As I got older, my passion grew with me. I would spend my free time watching and learning from YouTube. Once I became more confident in my work, I open an Instagram account to post my looks & also explore and learn from other accounts. I would practice late at night in the bathroom and take a bunch of photos until I got the right angle & lighting to capture the most realistic shot of my makeup. Every day, I work on multiple looks to post. I always do my research on products, hashtags, and what’s trending. I am constantly doing my best to stay up to date on what is popular and what real day to day women want to see & what they want to learn. Hard work pays off and I believe that because I really look into everything I do.
Has it been a smooth road?
It wasn’t always easy especially being a teen mom. At the ages of 16 to 20, I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted because I didn’t have the time. I struggled with school & being a single mom. I also didn’t have the best support system. My mother always told me that I was just wasting my time. But that didn’t stop me. After getting my HI-SET also known as GED, I began working harder. I tell myself everyday that I can do it and one day I will. My advice is to always pray on your passion, practice and have patience. All will come with a little bit of hard work & time.
