Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Bourdeau.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Danielle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Truth is, I never had seen hairdressing in my future. All I ever wanted to be growing up was an FBI agent, I wanted to catch all the bad guys. I was on Snapchat one day and saw my friends having the best time of there life, and I couldn’t help but asked where they were. After attending Toni & Guy hairdressing school tour I knew this career and industry was for ME. I came across a lot of obstacles along the way throughout the 10 months of school, but when I stepped into school each and every day those problems went away and I never let it affect my work.
I now work at Sacarrha Salon outside of Boston in Pawtucket Rhode Island and I couldn’t be happier knowing I’m working in the exact salon I used to come to, to get my own hair done when I was a kid. I’ve been in the industry for only 3 years and I have a full clientele. I have completed 70 hours of education this year so far. I will continue to educate myself because there always something new coming up. I worked so hard promoting myself on Instagram, Facebook, etc. Instagram is how I have got so busy, posting my work at least twice a day. The industry is changing every day and it’s so important to keep up with it, and I think I’m doing one hell of a job of it.
Sacarrha Salon is my family now and I couldn’t be happier with where I am today. My goal is to become a Eufora color educator and own my own salon.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve never actually been proud of anything I’ve done before. So, of course, I was extremely hard on myself when I was in hair school and even now. If something I performed wasn’t how it was supposed to be I would get frustrated and disappointed in myself. I just learn to keep trying and never give up.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sacarrha Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
I am an employee of Sacarrha Salon and I specialize in Color, I also am the in-salon educator. Sacarrha is defiantly different from most around us. We go above and beyond with giving the BEST client experience. Each stylist goes through a training program and undergoes a certain amount of education hours per year.
We stay up with the latest trends so we can bring it back to the salon and give our clients the best. The best part of working at Sacarrha is that we’re all family. I have found my best friends for life working here.
