Check out Valérie Minelli, Mrs.Frollein’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valérie Minelli, Mrs.Frollein.

Valérie, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I‘m 25, moved from Luxembourg to Germany to study art but struggled with painting classes etc. So I decided to join the comic class of Jonathan Kunz (one part of the war and peas Webcomics) and fell in love with comics. I started publishing Webcomics two years ago on Instagram under the name Mrs.Frollein

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create comics based on my personal life and relationship. There’s not really a message, mostly I want people to feel good when they read them. They’re mostly wholesome and funny but some can hit you right in the feels.

I’m not a very optimistic or happy person so I try to do just the opposite in my comics and make them as nice as I can. People often tell me they put a smile on their face, and that’s more than I’ve ever imagined to achieve with just some characters in squares

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I never really thought about what success means. I think in the recent times, followers on social media are important because you can easily reach a lot of people at once and get instant feedback. But the true success for me would be to live just from art.

To be successful as an artist, I think it’s important to create something people can relate to. Because that’s what people want right? Seeing something and thinking: yes! That’s so me!

Nobody wants to see something they can’t relate to in any way

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can see my work mostly on instagram.com/mrs.frollein and can buy my art at http://mrsfrollein.storenvy.com or buy me a coffee at ko-fi.com/mrsfrollein
