Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen & Christina Reale.
Karen & Christina, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
We are a mother daughter team who took over a boutique space in downtown Hingham, MA in 2017. Both with business backgrounds, we have worked to build a unique shopping experience which offers professional styling on a high level in a local environment.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
We choose a small curation of clothing from multiple designers. These pieces are carefully chosen with the intention to create a unique shopping experience for our client. The objective of the experience is for clients to walk out of the boutique with up to date pieces that refresh both their wardrobe and confidence.
Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
Conditions are changing for artists today. There is certainly no shortage of creativity or content, but the internet has definitely effected artists in both negative and positive ways. For us, life has become complicated due to the increased popularity in online fashion. It has given people an exhausting process of ordering something that looks great on a model, receiving it, trying it on and then sending it back. People are now going through that extensive process to then move on to trying things last-minute in person at boutiques. We are fighting the convenience factor of the internet with our stellar service.
