Claribel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was younger, my hair was damaged by heat and chemicals trying to attain an image that was not natural to me. About five years ago, I decided to start my natural hair journey. I researched and learned so much about how to take care of my natural hair and get my beautiful curls back. Through a lot of consistency and patience, I was able to bring my hair back to health. During that process, I watched many YouTube videos about hair care. Just like others helped me, I want to help others achieve what I have done and that is why I started my own YouTube channel. Sharing my knowledge with others or just being motivation makes me extremely happy. I want everybody to work every day towards being the best version of themselves, not only physically but also mentally and spiritually. I am blessed to have so many curlfriends join the party!
Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing comes easy but without challenges, the journey wouldn’t be as rewarding. My advice for young women starting this social media/beauty guru/curl enthusiast journey is to be yourself! Your personality and creative ideas will set you apart. Always remember that you are unique and beautiful, there is nobody else like you in the entire world! Also, be positive, optimistic, and have fun!

I am a curly hair enthusiast. I do hair tutorials, product reviews, and share tips on having healthy natural hair. I share my knowledge through my Instagram and YouTube channel, both ‘CurlsByClaribel’ while making it entertaining. I am very proud of my transparency with my curlfriends. I have always shared my real reviews and will continue to do so. I am also proud of the positive space we have created with laughter and good vibes. I have the best curlsfriends!
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Since I was a child, I was put in situations that allowed me to be curious and learn a lot. We have to be constantly learning to be able to grow.
