Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Quinn-Davidson.
For the Love of Jobe — Pet Services, LLC (also known as “Jobe”) cares for pets primarily in Brookline, Massachusetts. They are fully bonded and insured.
Jobe is owned by Michelle Quinn-Davidson. She is a proud member of the National Association for Professional Pet Sitters and is also Pet CPR and First Aid Certified from the Animal Behavior College.
Michelle established For the Love of Jobe — Pet Services, LLC in 2014 in memory of her beloved, rescued, blind Newfoundland / Labrador mix, Jobe. He was the sweetest dog on the planet, and his presence brought family, friends, and neighbors love and joy.
Prior to starting her business, she spent more than 20 years in nonprofits, youth development, and education, holding leadership positions at various organizations. Thinking about what brought her the most joy in life, she realized her true passion has always been for animal welfare, which led to opening her pet services business.
Michelle received her masters of public administration in management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and her bachelor’s in speech from Emerson College.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the greatest obstacles to starting a new business is learning to “live in the gray.” In my previous careers in corporate, nonprofit, and educational institutions, there was a clear “black and white” in these roles. You are hired at X salary to do Y job and Z performance reviews. When you begin a business yourself, the funds, foundations, mission, team, staff, infrastructure, and expectations are a blank slate. This is both exciting and terrifying!!
I would say one of the best pieces of advice I had was listening to other women who are entrepreneurs. They encouraged me to pursue my dreams and work toward living a more passionate life. Do what you love and the rest will follow.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with For the Love of Jobe – Pet Services, LLC – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
For the Love of Jobe — Pet Services, LLC supports pet parents while they are apart from their fur babies. We offer a variety of services and work one-on-one with your pet, providing compassionate, loving, and dedicated care to your furry family member and peace of mind while you are away.
We specialize in helping “high-need” pets such as puppies who need behavior training, seniors who need special assistance, dogs who have fear/aggression/anxiety issues, and pets who need medications.
Jobe believes in long walks, socializing, and frequent conversations, just like with any family member! We care for your dog or cat as if it was our own.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
JOBE is currently establishing a team of contractors to meet the needs of our clients. We have grown quickly and want to further help our pet parents and furry friends. Specifically, the need for holiday care is overwhelming. Pets are most comfortable in their own environments and not traveling, so this niche has grown significantly. Additionally, as a Certified Dog Trainer, I am also utilizing other skills to build JOBE’s services: dog massage for elderly pets, water swimming for aches/pains; and a feline focus on cat behavioral issues.
JOBE continues to build its network of colleagues and will continue to help find homes to rescue dogs and cats. We support many shelters and foster care networks as well as offer pro bono advice to struggling pet parents. Our goals are NOT revenue-driven, rather we want to help pet parents and their pets’ life their best lives together.
