Meet Charles Cherney, Realtor at Harvard Square

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Cherney.

Charles, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a VP at Compass and work out of the Harvard Square office. I have successfully helped over 500+ buyers and sellers in Cambridge & Somerville since 1999.

I joined Compass in August 2016, after eighteen years at Hammond Real Estate in Cambridge.

I fell in love with the area as a Harvard student in the late 1980s. After graduating, I lived in Paris and New York City and Providence and the Detroit area, returning to Cambridge & Somerville in the late 1990s.

I came to the real estate business by way of the classroom, having taught English and history at several leading prep schools.

My real estate work ethic is grounded in Gary Vaynerchuk’s notion that giving and doing things for others without expectation of return, is the greatest gift. I understand that work is the first, second and third part of success.

I am a firm believer in gratitude. I recently started a blog post series on gratitude – see Grateful247365.com.

Has it been a smooth road?
Every business day has its challenges. It has been a smooth road for me because I am committed to being in the moment and addressing that which is before me to the best of my ability and then moving – growing – forward.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
