Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Davis.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Christopher. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been writing and recording my own music since I was a kid. Born and raised in Cambridge, Ma. I wanted to take my talents further, I started traveling as an independent artist to large music festivals like SXSW in Austin, TX, and A3C in Atlanta, GA. I fell in love with the ambiance of it all, food trucks, big stages, multiple stages and genres, every kind of person gathered in one spot, bringing them all together, was music. I knew it would be a shock to some, but I stopped everything I was doing for myself musically and started to build my brand, Capitol Front Booking.
In order to immerse in the Hip Hop scene, but from the other side, I started to curate small live music and networking events. Since then we have gone on to produce our own events during SXSW and A3C, Capitol Front Booking also specializes in creating unique tours for independent artists look to grow their fan base.
Has it been a smooth road?
As any entrepreneur knows, it’s not easy. I already knew about music, what I didn’t know was about business. Learning how to run a business properly, all the paperwork, communication, legal responsibilities, was new to me.
After designating the right people to help me, learning things on my own and understanding that you can’t do it on your own, I found a team that works for me and my business allowing us all to stay creative.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Capitol Front Booking – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Capitol Front Booking helps mainly to provide a platform for independent artists. We specialize in things like multiple city tours, live concerts, charity and networking events, but also dabble in the arts & fashion world as we collaborate with ArtWeek Boston every year.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like the best about our city is our winning attitude. What I like least about our city is the lack of hip-hop events.
