Meet Anisha Goodwin of AK Creations by Nicole in Brockton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anisha Goodwin.

Anisha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always had trouble shopping. I usually struggled with finding things that I felt best represented me so I stayed away from it. I was usually interested in simple but with meaning. Toward the end of last year I decided an attempt to start bringing my visions to life. When I initially started creating, it was just for my bridal party but once I realized I had something good going on, I decided to extend my creations.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part the road has been smooth with a few bumps. I think the outside pieces (my full time job and family) definitely have created some obstacles. I really had to focus on things to see how I could balance out the different parts of my life while starting my business. I’m still currently working on the balance but things are getting to be at a good place.

Please tell us about AK Creations by Nicole.
My business is AK Creations by Nicole. The AK stands for myself (Anisha) and my fiancé (Kevin) but it also stands for our two children, Averi and Kaiden. I specialize in clothing (t shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies), drink ware (mugs, wineglasses, and tumblers) and some home decor (pillows and canvas). I am known for my items being geared towards being a Queen. Majority of my items have some sort of Queen reference and cater to women that either know they are queens or like to be reminded. The one thing I’m most proud about is that there are people that actually believe and support my vision. Sometimes when you have a vision it’s really hard to get people on board with you but that has actually been the easier part of my journey and I love it.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to actually start making accessories and some women’s apparel. Also I’ve been considering including more masculine inspired items to cater to a larger demographic. Last but not least, I can’t forget the kids. I want to have something for everyone. My ideas are always evolving and I like creating new items. I hope that one day this business will be my full time gig so I can dedicate as much time and love to it as possible.
