Today we’d like to introduce you to Abbey Denaro.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Abbey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey with Chiropractic began as a teenager suffering with TMJ (jaw pain). I had spent years trying different dentists and TMJ specialists to help with the pain and constant headaches. My grandmother had been seeing a chiropractor for back pain and recommended that I see him, as well. My parents and I were willing to try anything at that point. After seeing the chiropractor for only two weeks, my jaw pain and headaches were gone! It was at that point that I knew chiropractic would be a part of my life forever.
I attended UMass Lowell for a bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology and afterwards Palmer Chiropractic College for my Doctorate of Chiropractic.
In 2013, I moved back to my hometown of North Reading, MA to open Denaro Chiropractic. I specialize in prenatal and pediatric care, however I routinely work with patients of all ages and with many different conditions, such as back and neck pain, TMJ, arthritis, migraines, whiplash, sciatica, radiculopathy, vertigo, tendonitis, degenerative disc disease, etc.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Upon graduation, the idea of being a chiropractor was exciting and I felt more than confident to begin working patients within the community. In Chiropractic College, we were required to complete many hours of clinical time adjusting patients, so I was competent as a Chiropractor upon graduation. Honestly, my biggest fear was that I looked so young when I started practicing; I was worried that I did not look like a doctor and instead looked like just a kid! As I began making changes in people’s lives with my chiropractic care, that fear quickly dissipated.
The idea of being a business owner, on the other hand, was another story. I had been a student my entire life and had little experience with the many aspects of business ownership. I enlisted the help and experience of my parents (who owned a business for 35 years), the Small Business Association, my colleagues, and the local Chamber of Commerce. It has always been my philosophy that the right resources are always accessible – you just have to know where to go. Thanks to all the support I had, Denaro Chiropractic has flourished and quickly became one of the most recommended Chiropractic offices in the community.
Denaro Chiropractic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
In May 2013, I made a commitment to provide quality chiropractic care to our community. I wanted to create the kind of office that I would want to go to as a patient; an office that takes the time to explain and educate, an office that values your time, an office with a staff that makes you feel welcome, an office that is honest and truthful! This year, I was awarded with the prestigious recognition from the International Association of Healthcare Professionals as one of the Leading Physicians of the World as well as Top Chiropractor in Massachusetts.
In the past five years of being in business, we have helped thousands of patients! Newborns, moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, athletes, veterans and active military, students, teachers and first responders. My specialty and extended training is in prenatal and pediatric care. I am certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and I am Webster Certified to work with complicated breech pregnancies.
I am aware that the entire experience goes into a solid reputation, which is why our staff is trained to be professional and calming, the office is clean and inviting, and patients never feel rushed or unheard.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success has everything to do with reputation. If you have a 5-star reputation, that’s all you need; the rest will follow! Our town has a community Facebook page and whenever someone asks for recommendations for a chiropractor, so many people recommend Denaro Chiropractic. To see that means the world to me! I pour my heart and soul into helping each person who has enough trust to walk through my door, so to see people recommend their friends and family members to me is amazing!
