Conversations with the Inspiring Danielle Keefe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Keefe.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I found my passion early in childhood, competing in pageants, love to dress up in hair and makeup. It was always fun, loving the feeling it gave me And later in life learning how to gift others with that same feeling. I started out in retail, before making the commitment to cosmetology school.

It wasn’t until after having my oldest son, Matt, and as a single mother, I learned that this passion was a viable option for our success. Our way out of a situation that wasn’t healthy for either of us.

This is where I met my first two career mentors. Hillary and Jane, strong independent business women. These cosmetic boutique owners paved a path for me, showing that you can be a mom as well as a provider for my family. I learned so much about my trade, made friends that I still depend on today and that it was ok to Be strong, independent and confident as a woman. After meeting and marrying my husband, and trying my hand as a stay at home mom, I realized I still had the drive to practice my passion. Weddings were the perfect niche for me, allowing me to work, meet some interesting people and reconnect with old friends, while still keeping my 3 sons the priority.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Luckily I have had a pretty smooth road, in business. Word of mouth has allowed me the opportunity to guild other artists, just starting out in the cosmetic world. The biggest struggle for me is learning that not every artist has the intention to “pay it forward”. I have had to learn to allow them to burn their own bridges and let it go. It’s sad because I credit a lot of my success to always giving credit where it’s due, and obviously a lot of hard work. I luckily have been able to build a solid team, who have been with me for years providing our clients with the highest level of customer service and talent that reflects in their work ethic. This year, I have been able to bring on a client relations manager, KrissAnn. She has been a lifeline for the team during one of our busiest seasons yet.

My advice to artists just breaking into this field, hustle, pay it forward and stay humble.

what should we know about Pretty Bar by Danielle Keefe Artistry? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
While we love all aspects of the field, my specialty is bridal and wedding parties. We are known for our classic, polished, flawless style. Something I am most proud of is, when you look at our professional portfolio, going back a decade now, our work has remained consistently timeless. Our goal is to transcend trend. I believe our brides value that with our team.

Recently, I have become more involved in charitable organizations “Pretty with a purpose” is a campaign I started this year. Because of my team, I’m able to focus on giving more of my time to philanthropic causes.

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I think we are fortunate to live in a day and age that women are valued as much as men. I luckily have a husband, who nurtures my talent and encourages me to live my best life. I think a strong support system is most important to women, especially those with families, wanting to balance the demands of both. By nature, I feel like women, are multitaskers and are best positioned for opportunities that allow for growth and can benefit from that.
