Meet Jia Li of Tea Tell Truth in Worcester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jia Li.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love affair with tea began when I was a little child growing up in the mountainous region of Yunnan in China, where tea originated. I moved to Massachusetts in 2010 and since then, have been trying to spread my ancient tea culture all throughout the world. In today’s fast-paced and stressful lifestyle, I believe that spending a few minutes to brew loose tea leaves will help you connect with your inner self.

Tea is unlike any beverage since it has positive effects on one’s mental and physical health. Specifically, my focus is on ‘Puerh’ Tea, which is a high-quality tea from my hometown.

What makes this tea so unique is that it is produced by fermentation of the tea leaves, which tremendously improves its benefits. I would love to tell you more Puerh since I believe it is truly a ‘drinkable antique’. Please feel free to look at my website teatelltruth.com. I have been holding a lot of tea events like tea class at UMASS Medical School, Berkshire County, tea party in Boston, tea and meditation at beach and Tanglewood.

Our desire is to share a new way of tea life with more friends! Tea has a very long and humble history. Some Pu-erh teas are produced from ANCESTOR trees those are thousands of years old! Once harvested, as Pu-erh tea ages, the flavors change and become more complex. It is as if they are a drinkable ANTIQUE.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have tried to reach more tea lovers through social media like Facebook and Instagram.

So far, I hold 1-2 tea events every month based on my full-time job schedule. I would love to reach more people who are willing to know more about healthy lifestyle and tea culture.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tea Tell Truth – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I come from Yunnan. The birthplace of tea and tea-drinking traditions. The oldest tea tree (3200 years old ) is in my hometown in the world that I am so proud of our tea culture and history.

My mom works directly with organic tea growers and tea masters. We are passionate about sharing knowledge, the history, culture and health benefits of tea, and bringing rare organic loose-leaf tea to more people.

We showcase and teach traditional tea ceremonies, providing an exceptional tea-tasting experience. Drinking tea brings people together, and handcrafted fine tea is worth sharing!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I want to build up a TEA wellness center in the future. My plan is:
1. building up my customer base
2. networking and building a good relationship with wellness-related friends
3. explore more and find a good location for my business.

  • tea class and tea tasting (40 mins class and 2 kinds of Puerh Tea tasting) 25$/person
