Life and Work with Sophie Stahley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie Stahley.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sophie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always had a passion for all things health and wellness, fitness and fashion! The premise of my blog is to share my thoughts, opinions, favorite things and to educate, motivate and inspire! Ever since I was young, my mom would find me in her closet trying on her heels and playing with her makeup. Those who have known me for a while, know that I absolutely love to shop. I have a knack for finding affordable pieces that are high quality and look designer. A few months ago, I started on this journey of blogging, while also still working full time. It’s been such a learning process, but I have loved every minute of it! Getting to connect with my followers and other bloggers have been the best part. This is truly my creative outlet; a safe place where I can share my daily outfits, but also my deepest and most real thoughts!

Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve definitely encountered some bumps along the road, but instead of getting upset, I just look at them as lessons learned! I try to stay positive for the most part, but sometimes things really don’t go my way, and it’s okay to be upset. Part of this process is learning from your mistakes and finding out what works and what doesn’t. Blogging has led me to so many amazing opportunities and I’ve connected with wonderful women around the world! It was challenging at first to figure out how much I was comfortable sharing in my day-to-day life. Part of the “job” of blogging is to share your life and inspire/motivate others! This is still a work in progress and I’m still learning along the way, but I always listen to my gut and do what’s right for me. My best advice for other female bloggers is to always stay true to yourself. It’s easy in this industry to let others influence you, but what works for them might not work for you and that’s okay! That’s what makes YOU special! Your followers will see your authenticity and to me, that’s more important than anything.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with So Sophie Says – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
So Sophie Says is a lifestyle and fashion blog, sharing fashion trends, styling tips, beauty secrets, fitness inspiration, recipes and more!

In May of 2017, I was introduced to the Whole30 program by my friend. This program quickly turned into a lifestyle and I learned so much about myself and my relationship with food. I believe that the food we eat shapes every aspect of our lives! Eating healthy foods with clean and simple ingredients gives you the nutrients you need to live your best life. After I did my first Whole30, I started sharing tips and tricks and grocery hauls with my friends and family. I got such positive feedback from everyone around me, that I wanted to reach out to more people! This is where the idea of blogging first came into play. From there, I started sharing different workouts and health and wellness tips too.

I have always loved exercising and staying active. Exercise is more than just how many calories I’m burning in an hour. It’s a time where I can have peace of mind, declutter my head and let go of everything else. It’s so important to take care of your body and appreciate the one that you have! So often, I hear girls talk about how their thighs are too big, or they have stomach rolls. It’s hard to find a place on the internet where you are welcome no matter what size you are or how toned your stomach is. It’s also hard to look at social media influencers with six packs eating pizza and not be discouraged. I’m here to be that person who provides inspiration and motivation to everyone no matter their size! I’ve been in a place where I did not feel good about myself, but instead of comparing myself to others, I found what worked for me and where I’m truly happiest. I want to share my story and show my honest and genuine self to help inspire others to not feel down on themselves, but to see that they are beautiful on the inside and out!

I’ve always been a lover of all things fashion and beauty! I love to shop, especially with my mom and sister! We are always on the hunt for affordable pieces that look designer and fit in line with the trends of the season. I love sharing my fashion finds and snapping a photo of a styled look! Sharing my outfits and how I style certain pieces allows me to show my personality in a creative way through a photo!

For everything else – lifestyle, opinions, thoughts, etc. I share a lot in my stories on Instagram, or on my blog under the section Lifestyle.

Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
Absolutely. I owe so much of my success to my mom. She has taught me so many amazing life lessons that I will hold on to forever. I was raised in a home where kindness was the number one ticket to being “cool.” Every night while we ate dinner together, my siblings and I would go around the table sharing our acts of kindness from the day. We were so excited to hear each other’s kind acts. An act of kindness truly goes a long way. You never know what someone is going through and sometimes just smiling or saying hello can brighten up someone’s day.

My blog is a place where kindness, community, and love exists. I love connecting with my followers and learning about them; what they like and don’t like. I love when they message me saying they’re trying something that I recommended and they love it. This truly makes me so happy. I recently wrote a more personal post, and the outpouring love and kindness that I received from so many friends and followers were amazing. That is what life is all about! Connecting through kindness and love is an amazing thing!
