Meet Elisabete and Peter Tambone of MyWheyNuts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisabete and Peter Tambone.

Elisabete and Peter, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My wife Elisabete is from Brazil and we were visiting Rio de Janeiro back in October 2016. We like to eat healthily and always try to eat snacks high in protein. We were looking for a snack like nuts. That’s when Elisabete had the idea to coat nuts with whey protein. After many attempts at the kitchen, she mastered the recipe and now has three flavors of baked peanuts. We launched MyWheynuts just a month ago and there isn’t anything like this product available.

Has it been a smooth road?
Yes and no. Both of us have no background in starting a snack business and what it takes to brand a product. We have taken seminars and talked to a lot of people that are in the industry and have helped us along the way. My wife owns her own cleaning business and I am a Certified fitness trainer and both know how to run a business.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the MyWheyNuts story. Tell us more about the business.
MyWheyNuts is a healthy snack for that person that is looking for a healthier option with Whey Protein bake wright on them. We are the only company that is baking whey protein in nuts. We plan on expanding into almonds, cashews ..etc. My wife is an immigrant who came to this country without nothing 12yrs ago. She started a cleaning a business and now she is starting her 2nd business MyWheyNuts.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
With people more aware about their health and looking for healthy food and snack options we feel MyWheyNuts are going to fit into this trend. We plan on creating more flavors with almonds, cashew, walnuts etc..
