Meet Trailblazer Chelsea Barringer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Barringer.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chelsea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The seed of my work was planted in me at a young age, growing up on my family’s farm in a small town in Maine. Early on, I gained a strong sense of where food comes from and an abundant appreciation for the hard work that goes into growing it.

But as I got older, I fell into the diet trap and started choosing a ‘100 calorie packs’ over a fresh apple. It wasn’t long before I began to feel ‘off’ and out of sync with my body – from chronic fatigue, anxiety, migraines, digestive issues, and acne. Worst of all, I was told these symptoms were ‘normal’ for women my age. But these health issues got so bad that I ended up in a hospital on a cocktail of medications, wondering if I was ever going to feel good again.

I was faced with two choices: take medication for the rest of my life or learn alternative ways to regain control of my health naturally. Innately, I chose the ‘farmacy’ over the pharmacy and began a life-changing journey exploring the world of functional nutrition and holistic health.

I now hold a Master of Science Degree (M.S.) and Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Holistic Nutrition, an Associate of Science Degree (A.S.) in clinical nutrition, am a Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR) and specialize in integrative health. In 2010, Nutrition Simplified was born to educate and empower individuals to restore their bodies through the wisdom of nature

Has it been a smooth road?
Big dreams never come with smooth roads! From conquering lack of confidence in myself, and finding trustworthy business partners I could *truly* rely on, to sleepless nights, and many wrong turns, it has been a bumpy ride, to say the least. Holding on to my ‘why’; my big picture dream that makes me jump out of bed in the morning is what fuels my perseverance. I consider it my drishti that keeps me from losing focus and stumbling. I stay grounded and present by meditating, journalling, and taking time to celebrate the small things along the way.

We’d love to hear more about Nutrition Simplified.
As a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, I have worked with a wide variety of clients with a focus on endocrine health, detoxification, supplementation, and mind-body wellness, and have spent the greater part of my career exploring the impact of hormones on overall health and how to correct biochemical and nutritional imbalances.

I’ve coached thousands of individuals over the years and still, am so inspired when I see a client’s life transform by tuning in to the innate intelligence of their body, and supporting it by integrating the wisdom of nature into their daily lives. I offer online programs, supplementation, ebooks, and other resources to empower women to become the driver of their own wellness journey.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Always trust your gut! Your intuition is the strongest tool you have. Own it, honor it, and let the universe open the doors for you. All of the right opportunities arise for you when you stay aligned with your values, visions, and truth.
