Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Yanovsky.
Steve, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
BCI opened its doors in 2002 offering hands on programs to assist the working adults in achieving meaningful employment in the medical field. Since then, we have trained close to 10000 people as skilled medical assistants, dental assistants, hospital sterilization technicians and medical billers. We are a not for profit school with a mission to help all people who wish to enter the healthcare field.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worthwhile is ever smooth. Like all professional organizations, we constantly seek improvement and enhancement to our offerings. We also have to stay current with all issues pertaining to licensure, professional trends and accreditation. Each step presents a challenge and serves as an opportunity. Obviously, when dealing with as many people as we do there are always human challenges but, we deal with that as best we can as well. Luckily, we always succeed. Finally, like any other organization the biggest challenge is almost always financial. BCI is proud to be fully self-financed and debt free.
Please tell us about BCI.
BCI provides hands on training to all people desirous of becoming employed in the healthcare field. We do that by providing hands on programs in a realistic clinical setting. Classes are taught by skilled professionals licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Professional licensure. We have trained many thousands of people who are now employed and not in debt for their education. This is our greatest achievement.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Would have gotten nationally accredited sooner.
