Meet Sara Noonan of Harbor Hounds in East Boston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Noonan.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My passion for dogs started at a young age. I have always had an immense connection with every dog I’ve met. From understanding their specific needs to being involved in rescuing.

I have three rescue dogs of my own including the newest member of the family Lucy, a tripod Pitbull from Arkansas.

Dogs have always been a part of my family and treated that way. When I graduated college in southern Florida and moved back home I found my niche in the “dog world” and was dedicated to creating a facility that catered to the city living dogs.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obstacles and challenges are a part of every new business; it’s how you handle them that defines you.

Finding the right “pack” and creating an atmosphere that is safe, fun and structured was originally an obstacle. Being patient is what has made Harbor Hounds really strive.

Harbor Hounds – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Harbor Hounds is a where a doggie day care meets a life style. Our clients and their dogs are our family. We’re all one big pack. We cater to each dog’s specific needs whether it’s training to basic obedience.

We have an awesome facility located in the heart of East Boston on the waterfront where we offer daycare, boarding and grooming. You can expect your best friend to have fun romping around in our outdoor area in the dog pools to playing inside in our spacious areas.

Harbor Hounds is known for providing quality over quantity. We’re a smaller facility meant to satisfy each individual dog daily. We love these dogs as much as we love our own.

We are a non-discriminatory daycare and welcome any shape size or breed once they pass an evaluation.

Not only are we the premier doggie day care in East Boston, we offer the highest caliber grooming services where your dog will be relaxed while enjoying time at our dog spa! From nail trims to feather extensions, I would say we do it all!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Being a new business owner my proudest moment would revolve around the sole fact that the East Boston community has been so welcoming. At only 9 months we are a striving business here in Boston and the response from the neighborhood has been truly incredible. I couldn’t ask for better dogs or clients.
