Meet Rob and Lindsey Morrow of True Presence Photography in Dover

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob and Lindsey Morrow.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Rob and Lindsey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We are a husband and wife duo who fell in love with photography (and each other!) through travel. Since we met 5 years ago, we visited many places all over the world, and found unique beauty everywhere we went. We started our journey into the photography world primarily focusing on beautiful landscapes as well as recording our unique experiences of different places and cultures.

Over time we started aiming to capture great shots of each other and our friends. We also shifted to more intentionally framing our images and creating artistic effects using light and bokeh. For the past few years we’ve been getting a lot of great feedback from our posts on Facebook and several people have been encouraging us to offer our services professionally.

We are now married with a beautiful daughter and are at the right time in our lives that we’ve decided to make this a reality. Although we both love photography, Lindsey is the main photographer, while Rob is a part-time MBA student and full-time Business Development Engineer who enjoys the challenge of building businesses and making things happen. The combination works perfectly to enable us to pursue our dreams.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest challenge was simply taking the first step and overcoming the fear of ‘putting ourselves out there’, since our degrees were both in science, not photography. We started off with a few practice shoots on friends and family to build confidence and add to our portfolio and were pleasantly surprised with the amount of interest.

Our next obstacle was building our customer base and getting our name out there. This is still our biggest hurdle, but we’ve been working to build our brand on Facebook and Instagram and in the local community.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about True Presence Photography – what should we know?
We do portrait and session photography and take pride in both knowing the local hidden gems that make for great back drops and helping our clients to feel comfortable so that we can get some great natural and candid shots. We seek to show joy in our photos and catch real moments – moments of True Presence.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The most important characteristic of our business is captured well in the name we chose for it: we aim to be Truly Present with each and every one of our clients, with the goal of capturing crisp, timeless images showing real emotion and True Presence.
