Meet Michael Eruzione of Cottage Hill Real Estate in Winthrop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Eruzione.

Michael, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Aside from a brief stint in San Diego, I have lived in Winthrop all my life. I graduated from Winthrop high School and after one year at Phillips Andover Academy, earned my degree in hospitality from Boston University.

I worked as general manager at an extended stay apartment company in Boston where I oversaw all daily operations including: leases, billing, reservations, maintenance and cleaning. I spent many years as a bartender at T’s Pub and The Boston Sail Loft.

I also served as property manager for the owners rental properties in East Boston. It was at this juncture that my interest in real estate was formed.

I joined the amazing team at Cottage Hill Real Estate about 3 years ago and love every minute of it! We all have a love for real estate and enjoy working with both buyers and sellers to make the process for them as easy as possible. Finding a home for the first time is a stressful experience; my job is to take some of that pressure off you and allow a smooth process from start to finish. Selling your home is an emotional adventure. I want to make sure I work with you so you are comfortable when moving on to your next journey in life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life is a busy place and often one can get distracted. It was important for me to schedule my time accordingly and provide a daily schedule to stick to.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cottage Hill Real Estate story. Tell us more about the business.
Cottage Hill Real Estate specializes working with both buyers and sellers in the Winthrop and greater Boston market.

We pride ourselves on getting to know each individual client and what it is exactly they are looking for. Buying and selling a home can be a very stressful time and we take it upon ourselves to alleviate some of that stress and make sure you are comfortable throughout the entire processes.

The purchase or sale of a home is a major life event and we realize how important of a decision it is. We specialize in residential real estate and take the time to study market trends and the latest community data to ensure accurate information on home value and up-to-date property inventory.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is everywhere! Sometimes good, sometimes bad. It may be the bad luck that got me to where I am today.

While studying at Boston University, I wanted to transfer into the School of Communication to pursue a career in television and entertainment. As luck would have it, the Dean whom I had met with to allow the transfer was let go, shortly after, by the University and I was unable to switch from the College of General Study’s to the School of Communication. Initially, disappointed, but looking back I am happy to be where I am today!
