Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Cronin.
Melissa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out as a graphic designer with a strong background in print production. I worked in a corporate design department before finding my way into a small agency where I got to experience all aspects of project management. While developing art direction skills, I also began to learn more about production management. I had the rare and unique opportunity to see creative projects through from budget to conception to production and delivery. From that experience I learned how decisions made early on in the process effect the final product and I began to put that knowledge to use for my clients.
I set out on my own 15 years ago armed with a passion for developing and streamlining the creative process. I enjoy sewing together expert teams of artists to come together and produce top quality visual assets for our clients. Working literally behind the scenes, being a part of the creative community and giving the artists I work with the space to thrive and be successful is deeply fulfilling.
As we’ve seen eCommerce and social media marketing boom over the last decade, so has the need to propagate those spaces with content rich visual experiences and stories. Already having the knowledge, the strategies and the teams in place to execute high quality, brand centric imagery efficiently allows us to answer our clients’ needs while maintaining a budget conscious approach.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Anyone who tells you they’ve had a smooth road to success is very likely lying! The creative world is always a bit of a roller coaster ride. Our industry is highly susceptible to economic downturns and the budget cuts that often follow. Making ends meet with shrinking budgets while still promoting and driving sales forward for our clients can be a difficult task.
Additionally, we’ve seen major changes in how brands communicate with their audiences. What used to be the sole purview of print and television now also incorporates all forms of online communications born from the internet. It became imperative to adjust and evolve with these new forms of user experiences as well as stay caught up with the physical technological advances in photography and image production. It hasn’t always been easy to stay caught up with the changing demands but so far we have been successful.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Greener Concepts, Inc. – what should we know?
Greener Concepts was formed with a singular purpose in mind – to create content rich, brand experiences to specifically targeted audiences for our clients. We are committed to assembling artists and team members of the highest caliber to deliver on this promise.

Our collective experience allows us to plan and assist our clients’ with the execution of their brand vision no matter the size and scope of the project. We are also one of the few production and content development groups with the expertise to see projects through to full project delivery whereas most production company’s work ends once the camera is put away. We have the capability to work with agencies, copywriters, retouchers, printers, web developers and IT departments to ensure all parts of a project work seamlessly together.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
As a collaborative agency, there is an almost endless list of names that are part of our “family” and deserve as much credit as we do. We wish we could name all of them but a few groups that jump to mind are Hfiftyfive, Anchor Artists, Universal Wilde, Paste Inc., Jack Richmond Photography, Piasecki Photography, and Saraceno Photography.
I also should mention my friends at FootJoy Golf who encouraged me to explore striking out on my own and have been a constant source of motivation and inspiration for 15 years.
And last but not least, Devin Gmitter is my talented and loyal Production Manager who helps me keep this machine running. Without him, I’d never get any sleep!
