Has it been a smooth road?
It has been anything but a smooth ride. At the age of 16, I was 5’11” tall but only weighed 103 lbs. Some of my so-called friends called me Malnutrition. That was a form of bullying back then. Those words stayed with me for years and created the sense of low self-esteem that fueled my drinking. Although I was modeling and traveling internationally doing photo shoots, all of the glamour was a convenient mask for me to hide behind.

I had failed relationships which just contributed to those feelings just pushing me into a bigger black hole. My life just spiraled down until I got to a point where I didn’t have one more day in me to continue. That was December 31, 1988. I was 41 years old and ready to die. God had another plan for me.

I started my path of recovery as well as becoming an avid student, reading everything I could get my hands on about the power of personal transformation. I have studied Wayne Dyer, Yogananda, Adyashanti, Louise Hay, A Course in Miracles and many others.

What I learned and emerged from these great teachers was that my own thinking caused all my suffering. Once I fully understood that I was able to start to create extraordinary success in my own life.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My Real Estate business, Mal Duane.com/Metrowest Homes was recognized in the 1990’s as a pioneer in the application of using the internet for marketing properties. It skyrocketed my business to $50,000,000 company several years in a row.

In 2009, I knew I had a powerful story to share with other women and wrote my first book, Alpha Chick-Five steps for moving from pain to power. It hit bestseller status on Amazon and won 5 awards. Women identified with my story and the deep pain I experienced. I am completely transparent but all the mistakes I have made.

I coach mid-life women today to Live Smart-Love Smart. I have walked through the fires of hell and gotten back. Women understand I know their pain intimately. I create a safe and sacred place for them to reveal their pain so they can begin the path of healing.
