Meet Lynn Graham of Lynn Graham Designs in Back Bay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Graham.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lynn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a graphic designer by trade, I started my custom wedding invitation business 7 years ago after creating invitations for friends and for my own wedding. I enjoyed the process so much that I took the leap, left my job and started working out of my own space in the South End. After many successful years in my South End studio, I happily moved to Newbury Street last year and am loving all the wedding industry camaraderie that goes on in my building and on the block.

Has it been a smooth road?
Like most small businesses, there are always bumps in the road during your journey to becoming successful. It was hard for me to break into the Boston wedding industry initially, but with great organizations like the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE), Boston Wedding Group and International Live Events Association (ILEA), my path to getting to where I am today was definitely less bumpy. By networking and surrounding myself with other great wedding vendors, I was able to break out of my shell and promote a lot of my business through word of mouth.

Also, since I am a custom stationer and every design I create is unique to each of my clients, one of my biggest struggles is and always will be online shops or DIY techniques. I’ve faced those challenges by always staying true to the custom process and educating clients and other vendors about the benefits of having a custom stationer. It’s more than just crafting and stamping envelopes. The nuances to creating a beautiful wedding invitation is truly an art form and requires much knowledge about printing processes, paper stocks and more!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lynn Graham designs – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Lynn Graham designs are a full service custom stationery studio that designs and produces wedding invitations and day of stationery. I start from scratch with each client and hold their hand the entire way through the wedding stationery process. I create anything from save the dates, invitations, menus, cocktail napkins, welcome bag inserts, etc… The possibilities are endless! This way their entire suite looks cohesive and will reflect the couple’s style and taste. The level of service and creativity I bring to each suite I create is really what sets me apart from other invitation vendors. I also have a level of knowledge about the wedding process that is really unique since I have a bit of a hospitality background in my past.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Boston because everything is within walking distance or just a short train ride away! Boston is my favorite city because although it is a city, it is still quaint and has charm. I love every area of Boston and especially all the yummy food in those specific areas.
