Thanks for sharing your story with us Kristen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We are a family owned bakery, opened in 2013 by myself and my father. We specialize in custom cakes, cupcakes, pies, and pastries. We are best known for our cake work, most importantly our homemade buttercream frosting, which is made the old school way, in our shop, every day.]
We started as home bakers, and are completely self-taught. We decided we wanted to open our own shop, to share our work with our community, and give our neighborhood a fun “mom and pop” shop to visit. To this day, 5 years later, we are building a reputation for fresh baked goods, unique birthday/special event cakes, as well as the everyday items like freshly brewed coffee, and hot donuts!
We try to have something for everyone, and we enjoy sharing in everyone important life events, from birthdays to holidays, and weddings!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being self-taught bakers, there has definitely been a learning curve that comes with baking! We’ve had cakes that have fallen over, pastries that didn’t come out great, and have worked long hours into the night. However, these have been some of the best learning experiences we’ve had, and have come a long way! We take each experience to learn, and grow to perfect our craft! Because we are a custom shop, we are always wracking our brains for new ideas for our clients, as well as the crazy ideas that come through our shop, but it is also one of the most fun aspects of our job!

We specialize in custom cake work, especially those with fun and unique ideas, we try to accommodate each and every client wants, needs, and budgets. We also provide a great “mom and pop” experience, and enjoy working with our regular clients as well as new clients!
We are most proud of the fact that being a small company, we do our best to compete with the “big boys” in our field, winning awards like “Readers Choice Awards” in the “Wicked Local” section of the Patriot Ledger every year since 2013, having great reviews on all of our social media accounts, and most importantly, the positive word of mouth from our clients.
What sets us apart from others is that we really try to go above and beyond to provide a very personal experience for our clients, and to help deliver the cake of their dreams for their events. Cakes can really be a centerpiece for events, and it means so much to us that they not only look great but taste even better. We really try to connect with each client and to provide a personal experience, which is hard to find these days. Most clients come into our shop expecting a generic book of ideas for cakes and are always surprised to find that we actually take time to meet with each client to discuss their ideas, and create something special, just for them. And of course, our homemade buttercream frosting keeps everyone coming back for more!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans for the future are to keep providing the quality products we’ve become known for, and to take it one day at a time!
