Meet Kristen Crawford, of Living On A Brand, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Crawford.

Kristen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Helping people better understand how to develop their personal brands and represent themselves in a genuine, authentic way is something that has always resonated with me in my work in marketing, as an educator, and with entrepreneurs.

As I entered the world of pageantry a few years ago as a way to challenge myself to improve my public speaking and re-engage more in the community I found it to be such an empowering experience that I wanted to give back. I decided that helping women get super confident in developing their personal brand voice and visuals so that they can stand out as pageant contestants were the way to go.

Now I work with women in various areas of pageant prep and competition, including things such as how to develop strong visuals for social media, and being able to define key talking points about themselves that highlights their strengths and values.

Has it been a smooth road?
Introducing this business into the market has included a lot of ongoing education.

Elements of personal branding get discussed in pageant coaching, but there has been a gap in the market specific to personal brand strategy. I’m working to elevate the importance of personal branding so that women better understand how it can be leveraged to make themselves effective brand ambassadors of not only themselves but of the pageant systems they are representing.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
As a Personal Brand Strategist, I focus on helping pageant queens & aspiring queens create clarity & confidence in their personal brand voice + visuals to create a rockin’ pageant brand. I offer different programs and strategy packages to help women with different areas of building up their personal brands specific to pageant prep, or how to tailor their branding specific to serving as a pageant titleholder.

This includes the Rocking A Confident Pageant Brand program which is a personal brand strategy program for aspiring queens that takes individuals from trying to figure out how to tell their story to stand out as a competitor, to building a strong brand to showcase why they deserve to win the crown.

I also provide hour-long strategy calls, visual brand styling, custom partnerships with pageant systems for strategy sessions, coaching, or workshops, as well as custom packages for one-on-one coaching for clients in New England. I currently work with women across the U.S. and Canada on building their pageant brands.

What I’m best known for is helping women with their individual goals and tailoring sessions to meet their needs. I recently worked with 2018 Miss Maine PURE International, and she said “I was super anxious about my first National Pageant especially the interview”. Being used to a panel style and going into round robin was a shock!

Luckily I had Kristen who helped coach me through the questions that always stumble me up. She gave me a plan that was made just for me and told me what to focus on. It helped me brand myself throughout pageant week and during the interview. I can not stress enough how worthwhile it was to work with her. But I can try! How does walking away with the Miss Division National Best Interview sound!?!”

What sets me apart from others is my approach in helping women in pageantry become the best version of themselves. I also run a monthly book club, called Book Peeps! which covers a different book each month with a strong message about various elements of personal growth and development. The intention is to help women develop their pageant brand through developing critical insights about themselves through the readings and insights I share monthly on the books through Facebook and Instagram Lives.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
What is unique about this area is how easy it is to access the New England states and get to different pageants. It also makes it much easier to get on the road and meet with clients. The pageant community is pretty robust in this area and is definitely experiencing growth.
