Meet Kimberly Buccheri of Kimberly Sarah Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Buccheri.

Kimberly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Dog Photography! It’s a real thing! Growing up I had a very special dog that was like a best friend to me. His name was Barron, and he was a German Shepherd. And the most handsome dog you can imagine. His eyes were so expressive, I would sit and talk with him, and his eyebrows would let me know he was listening.

The only thing wrong with our relationship was that when he passed, I did not have any images of him. I so wanted something to have forever, something I could place on my wall and look at every day and remember all the joy and love he brought me.

As life went on, I became an adult, worked for a large Hospital north of Boston for 15 years. The day came that I was laid off due to cutbacks. After 15 years? Really? Now what? This was my one and only opportunity to do what I loved, take a risk and go for it!

I had been photographing dogs for years before this pivotal moment, but now I saw Dog Photography as a vital career. Within my first three months of “hanging my shingle” as they call it, I was contacted by NH Magazine to have one of my images on the cover and an article in the February issue!

I have instructed classes on how to photograph Dogs using dogs from the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire. I have volunteered my talents to help other dogs and animals in need such as Pope Memorial SPCA in Concord, NH, Conway Area Humane Society and Canine Commitment of New England.

My business has blossomed into this amazing fairy-tail. Who doesn’t want to play with puppies and dogs all day? But, I wanted to be different, I wanted to offer my clients something special, and extraordinary experience. I delight in spoiling my clients and constantly strive not just to leave you happy with your artwork but enchanted with the entire affair!

I serve clients across the globe, and I only accept a limited number of commissions each month. I devote my time and energy to planning and creating Wall Art as unique as the personalities I get the pleasure of working with.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a difficult decision to go from a career as an Executive Assistant to owning and running my own business. Away went the health insurance, the perks, the steady income. I knew nothing about starting a business.

So I had to become a quick study in the Art of Doing Business. I became fully immersed in learning. My worries grew as time went on, as the paychecks stopped coming. Yikes! What did I do!

Kimberly Sarah Photography – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I love seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they see the artwork we created together. I love documenting the special bond. I aim to capture the spirit of your beloved pet and the love you share for each other. Beautiful images of your four-legged best friend are fantastic was to decorate your home. Many of our clients enjoy an endless stream of compliments on their pet’s portraits.

These photographs are also a beautiful, treasured reminder of your pet for many years to come. We will help you at every step, to a home consultation for placing your new Art Work to choosing the right Art for your home or office.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
After photographing over 100 rescue dogs for Canine Commitment of New England, I decided to have a gallery show of my Art to help raise money for CCNE. We took in $5000.00!

This money went to helping dogs get the surgery they needed, brought in more food and necessary items and brought together a community of dog lovers all for a good cause. Helping dogs go to good homes.
