Meet Kenneth Allard of Blue Glass Cafe in Back Bay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Allard.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We were initially in the basement of the John Hancock building as employee dining for the building. Seven years ago, we moved into our current space, which is open to the public.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We are in a premium location, but the blue/mirrored glass makes it tough for the outside public to know that we are here.

Blue Glass Cafe – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a health-conscious company that focuses on feeding people great nutritious food. Our strategy is driven by a core mission: fueling your performance today and nourishing your well-being tomorrow. Fresh food made with the best ingredients is what we’re all about. We have the best health bar in the city. Other stations include deli, hot chef-prepared entrees, pho noodle bowls and sushi rolled to order, as well as a coffee bar, where we proudly serve Starbucks.

The Blue Glass Cafe features:
• Free-range, grass-fed and naturally raised poultry, pork and lamb whenever possible
• Fresh fish and seafood caught and handled sustainably

• Biodegradable packaging

We offer breakfast and lunch daily. High-end business catering is our specialty at The Blue Glass Cafe. We’re always ready to provide customized catering with the most personal service, even on short notice.
