Meet Katherine White of YogaBalance in Manchester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine White.

Katherine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After a background in Events Management for a number of large international corporations, I decided on career change in my late 20s. I received my RYT-200hour certification from Zarnay Yoga in 2009 and started teaching that year. I was subbing at a local yoga studio, YogaBalance, and the owners of the studio asked me to help out around the office and within a year, I was managing the studio! I received my second RYT-200hour certification from YogaWorks in 2013, my RYT-500hour certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in 2014, her , and successfully passed the rigorous and prestigious YogaWorks Certification Assessment in NYC in 2014. I have assisted Natasha Rizopoulos and Jocelyn Casey-Whiteman with their YogaWorks yoga teacher trainings in Boston and NH respectively.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working at YogaBalance is a pleasure. The studio has existed since 2004 and was bought by the current owners in 2008. Our location changed a lot in those first few years, but we have been in our current location since 2010. We have been blessed with many amazing teachers on staff and incredible students – our struggles have not been a great as our blessings.

Please tell us about YogaBalance.
The studio has existed since 2004 and our mission is to provide the ultimate yoga experience. We pay attention to detail in order to provide consistent quality, cleanliness, convenience and value, and we also provide free amenities enjoyed by students only at YogaBalance such as complimentary towels, clean quality mats, unlimited parking and much more. We are open seven days per week, 364 days per year. YogaBalance’s owners are regular presenters at yoga conferences around the nation and we are fortunate to be friends with internationally renowned yoga masters who come from across the country to teach workshops at YogaBalance. We are also business partners with Yoga Journal, YogaWorks, Himalayan Institute, Kripalu, Wanderlust and other renowned yoga organizations. We are also privileged to share our rewards with dozens of local and national charities each year.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
