Meet the Team at Polished Spa in Epping

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kassie and the team.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As an adolescent, I grew up watching my entrepreneurial father work hard running his own business and I admired his efforts and success as an independent business person. In high school at the age of 17, I started working at a large spa as a front desk girl and admired the other cosmetologists and estheticians I worked with. With much support from family, I decided to become a beauty professional after graduating high school. In cosmetology and esthetics school I had a love for making people feel great about themselves right from the get-go.

After working at a few different spas and salons, my dreams came to fruition when I was 26 and had the opportunity to open Polished Spa. It was always my hope to have a beauty business of independent licensed professionals. So, I did just that. This is when I met my “besthetician” ( as we like to call each other), Tiffany. Shortly thereafter, my massage therapist, Hannah joined the team, then Ashley our lash stylist and then Michelle, our nail tech.

Polished Spa began in 2012 and has been going strong ever since. My love of leadership and mentorship brought me to where I am today with my business; a small but mighty team of 5 strong and smart individuals. As much as I am honored to be asked to write this article as an individual, I wouldn’t be where I am today if It weren’t for the team of amazing individuals who are the sum that makes up the whole that is Polished Spa. The idea behind Polished Spa came from many years of experience working with clients and other beauty business professionals. We all are very clear on what we want our guests to experience when getting spa services at Polished; quality, expertise, positivity and professionalism

Over the years the Polished team have had the opportunity to work in several different salons and provide services to thousands of clients. We have worked all over the seacoast. We all strive to be the best and together we have won many awards including the WMUR “Best Spa in NH” three years in a row.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We all have at one time or another had our challenges to overcome, especially all starting out as independent business women. Starting a business is no easy feat! When you are working with the public it is imperative that you build a great reputation and part of that is making sure we are always in our game with each other. At the heart of Polished is the well-oiled machine of a positive dynamic. Keeping communication open with each other takes effort on everyone’s part. Luckily we all look at our history as a learning experiences and have chosen to take the good and the bad and apply these ” learning opportunities” to our day to day operations.

Please tell us about Polished Spa.
At Polished we love being a spa only atmosphere (no hair cutting floor). This gives it a quiet and relaxed vibe for our guests. We are in a cozy log home which also makes it feel comfortable as soon as you walk in!

We are constantly changing and learning new techniques. We want our clients to experience the best in spa services including skin care, massage therapy, lash extensions, waxing, sunless tanning, nail treatments and special event styling.
