Meet Jordan Truong of James Joseph Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Truong.

Jordan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started out in my mid 20s fresh out of beauty school. I worked for many years as an apprentice under many talented stylists. Working as an apprentice is not easy but it has defiantly for me where I am today. I got to where I am today with lots of hard work passion and determination. I have my own personal style when it comes to color and cutting, it is something I am very passionate about. If you love what you Do, you’ll never work a day in your life.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, every trial and tribulation I have the game through has taken me to where I am today. Being a male stylist in an industry of mostly women has been tough but it has also formed me into the wonderful stylist I have become.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the James Joseph salon story. Tell us more about the business.
I work for a company called the Belgrade Group.  They are a large company with 5 major salon/spas they own; James Joseph Salon, Lord’s and Lady’s, Green Tangerine & Spa, Corbu Spa & Mizu. There are 27 locations in total throughout MA, NY, RI, CT & NH.  I currently work for James Joseph Salon in Medford, MA. I personally specialize in Balayage but I also really enjoy cutting.

As a company, I am most proud of our education. We are always offered classes to better our knowledge! We do our best to keep ourselves up to date with any new trends that come out! I think the thing that sets us apart from other salons are we strive to make sure the client has the best experience and is truly satisfied with their hair.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years?  Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc
Honestly, the industry is constantly changing. There is a new trend every week.  It’s hard to determine what the industry will be doing 5-10 years from now but I can definitely see it still being a big success. People will always need their hair cut!
