Meet Jessica Muniz of Jessica Muniz Photography in Boston and Cape Cod

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Muniz.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I came from Brazil four years ago to begin I new life and I found here not only home, family and friends but a career as well. I always has loved art in all perspectives, but I found myself into Photography. My husband gave me my first camera and everything started as a hobby. My family and friends encouraged me to open my own business and here I am. It is amazing working with something you love to do. I thank God everyday for this opportunity.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course it is not easy to start a business. Sometimes I wanted to give up, but I have learned that if we want to be successful at anything, we have to believe in yourselves, even though when our loved ones don’t believe us. Never lose faith and work hard to achieve your dream. Everything is possible.

Please tell us about Jessica Muniz Photography.
I have done some workshops at New England School of photography and SLR Lounge, but I consider myself as a self-taught photographer.

I offer Weddings and Portraits services around Massachusetts area. I love working outdoors around nature. Natural light and Candid moments are my favorite styles.

As a professional, I like to make sure everything looks perfect, specially when I am working with brides. I care about my clients and I always try to give them the best experience as possible. I believe that makes me stand out from my competitors.
It is a privilege to be part of people’s lives and capture their unforgettable moments.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I can draw since I was a kid. So, most of my childhood memories are about me drawing something. I remember when someone asked me what I wanted to be/do when I grew up, I used to come up with different answers, but one thing I was sure of, I wanted to be an artist. I even used to say that to my mom. I never thought I would become a photographer. Life is absolutely a little box of surprises.
