Meet Jamie Fintonis of Gasho Studio in Danville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Fintonis.

Jamie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started out as a Registered Nurse in the Hospital on a ventilator rehab floor dressed all in yellow from head to toe in precaution gowns. I loved taking care of patients, but I only got to do that when I wasn’t charting and answering daily questions that lagged on and on and on while at the computer. That was where I was forced to spend most of my time, at the computer, instead of at the bedside with the patient. I began to see the same people go through the revolving door of healthcare, only to become a patient again. Something was missing in our way of healing, here at the hospital. There had to be a better way of getting people to heal – not only physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically. Otherwise, we just keep seeing them again and again.

I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia which caused me increasing hip pain until one day they just gave out. I needed to have surgery right away or my career and standard of living would go bye-bye. I had the surgery, PAO hip surgery, and was on crutches for 8 months, returned to work and struggled on. I relearned how to walk and deal with the pain. Just as I was about to be off of my crutches, my job fired me for being on crutches for too long. I was unable to collect unemployment due to unfortunate details. So, what was I to do next. Unemployed, broken but healing, lost in a sea of contemplation. I turned to my family which led me to my true loves…fused glass and Reiki. I decided to buy a used kiln and get really good at making Dichroic glass jewelry. I would charge each piece of jewelry with positive Reiki energy by giving it a simple traditional Reiki blessing as it cools from the kiln. My husband agreed to build me a workshop, and a Reiki Therapy healing room. Reiki clients and Life Coaching clients often purchase my jewelry at the time of their visit, and they are also sold online at gasho-studio.org! My hopes and dreams were coming together.
As I built my website, sold my jewelry and dream catchers at local events and got my items into art stores, and used word of mouth to get my business’ name out there. I continue to find that finding new Reiki customers is one of my biggest challenges. But I hustle on every day, and continue to evolve and bloom here at Gasho Studio, just where I like it!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting my name out there, finding new clients.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Gasho Studio – what should we know?
Gasho Studio provides several services. Jamie Fintonis is not only an RN, but also a Reiki Therapist, Life Strategist, Oracle Card Reader and Dichroic fused glass jeweler. She provides 1 hour of Reiki Therapy in her beautiful at home studio that has its own private exit/ entrance, for $40 an hour. She invites people to her studio as a Life strategist, which can also be done over the phone, 781-724-8447, to discuss a wide variety of situations. From life’s bumps and bruises to how to prepare a college application, and how to break a problem down to put clients on the best path for them. Jamie also reads Oracle Cards (much like Tarot Cards) for $30 for 30 minutes. You can purchase Jamie’s Dichroic fused glass jewelry at her studio or on her website, Gasho-studio.org and receive free shipping inside the US!

What sets Jamie apart is that she is just like you. She’s tasted life’s lemons, found a way to come out safely on the other side of a problem, and faced fears. Jamie is easy to talk to and hard to surprise. She is just as ordinary as the next lady, but she really cares about healing you and believes in the healing power of Reiki.

Perseverance, bravery, trusting in yourself and your own intuition.
