Meet Heather Ferrari of Songful Artists

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Ferrari.

Heather, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I went to school at University of Massachusetts, Amherst and graduated with a degree in Theater. Shortly after graduation, I moved to New York City to pursue an acting and singing career. Over the 13 years I lived in New York I worked in theater, film, television, commercial and print work. I was a singer for several years with a company called Party Singers, started by Julia Tobey in 2007. While in NYC I fell into the wine and spirits industry and built a successful sales career. I learned a great deal about sales and marketing and met a lot of great people. I then moved to the Boston area and continued working in wine and spirits sales. After 6 years in that career and 2 kids later, I knew I had to get back into the arts. I had the opportunity to purchase Party Singers which I did, renamed it Songful Artists and launched a division here in Boston. We are celebrating our 2nd year in Boston and 11th in New York City this year.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always challenges. Transitioning to being your own boss was definitely a new experience but it has been incredibly rewarding. Launching a new market was also challenging because I didn’t know what to expect and our two markets are so different from each other. But Boston has been so welcoming to us and I am very proud to have a business that is based here.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Songful Artists – what should we know?
